LOST IN APORIA
Check out LIA's social media
An intergalactic journey of philosophy,
A creative exploration of ideas.
Aporia is translated to mean an impasse, difficulty of passing, puzzlement. The meaning, then, of Lost in Aporia is to be lost in puzzlement for I am just that lost in my puzzlement. From Wikipedia, " In philosophy, an aporia is a philosophical puzzle or seemingly insoluble impasse in an inquiry, often arising as a result of equally plausible yet inconsistent premises. It can also denote the state of being perplexed, or at a loss, at such a puzzle or impasse". In my work here it shall be found that both meanings will find use.
As regards the question of whether life has any meaning I found myself in aporia. I found many reasons to say that life does have meaning; as well as many to think it a random meaningless phenomena. This lead my study of philosophy and beyond that; I began to listen, read, collect answers and think on this question. The question of the meaning of life lies in every human endeavor. In doing any task or undertaking some role I asked myself, " what's the point", was what I was doing of value or a mere waste of time? I asked what is life affirmation, what is it truly, what counts and doesn't count? LIA is a result of my endeavor to understand what it means to live a full life.
The best way that I can encapsulate what I am trying to do with this site is to say that this is a repository for my ideas; explored creatively and analytically. The more I challenge myself and engage with material I have come to desire to try to find something new. To a degree this is an experimental philosophical laboratory, where ideas will be examined. abstractness will be invited while practicality will be praised. It is as much about action as it is thought. Lost In Aporia is nebulous and evolving and that is probably the sites' best feature.
