The problem with time

It's a subject so fine

We don't understand

What it means to run out of sand.

A time to be wild

The eternal child

Now to be a man

With the flow of the sand

Parents and their son

Under the crescendo sun

I learn to stand

With the flow of the sand

The course of time

A subject so fine

Do we understand

The flow of the sand

Rising in the early morning

The passing time surly scorning

With guiding stars at midnight

There is no need for light

As the passing clouds above

So simple is the act of love

But do we understand

What it means to run out of sand
