Unrealistic expectations Unnecessary hesitations Uninformative explanations Choke the words forming Smoke wisps born in Lost bliss, a mental fog I’m sure it won’t last long I use to believe in poetry Tiptoeing around tragedy Avoid my own catastrophe Mental disaster relief Sadly respite is brief No need for psychiatry Just a measure of sobriety Let me be thankful For the poetry I still hear And share in my time here My life will be full.
