A sour smell from a cup of wine I lay in space in heat, a feeling fine There are things I try to divine Waiting in the mist of the evening Sweet moments I’ve been stealing A kiss, a cuddle, the warmth of flesh I watch you lie upon my chest And realize I don’t know how you love A receiver and a giver, a balance I thought of I give and do and never ask of you, it’s true As I lay here I wonder what my Love is to you Am I a match made from energies beyond us Or is this attraction merely forces unconscious Doubtless there’s more than meets the eye Regardless this sleepless hour where I ask why Is just one of many nights where I am awake Happily tonight I can have my doubts in your embrace.
