I listened to the speaker Felt out toward the performance Perhaps my mind is weaker Their message of solemn importance But I’m a half-blondes truth seeker Because I cannot relate to struggle I could only stay and be humble The prisoner’s tale of the meaner Life of unjust confinement The lonely abandonment And I realize what poetry is in refinement To give voice to those, Who whispered in the dark But does bringing shadows To light destroy or hide them.
