I remember watching a TV movie

An action adventure film

Where wildfires threatened California

And the hero knew the secret

To stopping them.

I don’t remember what it was.

Neither does anyone else

Since California has burned

These last few years

And no one has changed a thing.

Apparently thoughts and prayers

Are not the secret.
